Job Opportunity
We are seeking a dynamic leader to shape the future of surgical care in one of Australia's fastest-growing regions.
This is a rare and exciting opportunity to step into a brand-new leadership role, where your vision and expertise will directly influence how surgical care is delivered for years to come.
You will be supported by the Strategic Surgical Planning Committee, working alongside senior leaders and clinicians to drive innovation, improve access, and deliver lasting impact for patients and communities across our region.
Key Responsibilities
- Redesign the surgical patient journey from referral to recovery - improving outcomes, streamlining access, and enhancing patient experience.
- Lead multidisciplinary collaboration across integrated booking unit, surgical and procedural departments, inpatient wards, and theatres at both Gosford and Wyong Hospitals.
- Drive innovative service improvement for a wide range of surgical specialties including ENT, General Surgery, Gynaecology, Orthopaedics, Urology, Endoscopy and more.
- Solve complex challenges in access, flow, workforce planning, and resource optimisation - all while delivering high-quality care for a growing and ageing population.
About You
We are looking for someone with:
- Relevant qualifications or equivalent experience, with a strong understanding of planned surgical care in public health.
- A proven track record of leading change and quality improvement projects in complex health settings, particularly in surgical services.
- Excellent collaboration skills, able to engage diverse stakeholders and drive outcomes across multidisciplinary teams.
- Strong analytical skills and ability to manage multiple priorities while evaluating service performance and improvement.
- A passion for improving care systems, with a commitment to clinical governance, safety, and patient-centred outcomes.
What We Offer
- Work-Life Balance: Enjoy an accrued day off each month, 17.5% annual leave loading, and paid parental leave.
- Financial Benefits: Boost your take-home pay with salary packaging, save on car costs with novated leasing, and access relocation assistance.
- Health & Wellbeing: Stay active with discounted gym memberships, free flu vaccinations, telehealth support, and confidential Employee Assistance Program (EAP) counselling for you and your family. Plus, access discounted private health insurance.
- Career Growth: Advance your career with free professional development courses and secondment opportunities.
The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of planned surgical care in public health, a proven track record of leading change and quality improvement projects in complex health settings, and excellent collaboration skills.
This role offers a unique opportunity to shape the future of surgical care in one of Australia's fastest-growing regions.
