About the Job

Yancoal is a Tier 1 Mining Asset with a growing operation and great operational culture. The Moolarben Coal mine is Australia's largest thermal coal producer, operating both Underground and Open cut operations.

The successful candidate will be part of a team that monitors, doses, flushes, samples and responds to emergency situations for potable systems across the complex. They will also assist in the production and distribution of potable water and complete SAP maintenance requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Monitor potable water operations and trends, escalating abnormal trends or concerns to the Water Supervisor.
  • Undertake maintenance, record keeping and inspection/reporting to effectively maintain potable water operations.
  • Support the monitoring of potable water inventories for chemicals, consumables and spares.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience working with aspects of Water Quality Management Systems and/or Maintenance Management Systems.
  • Strong knowledge of water quality requirements as they relate to potable water.
  • Recognised proficiency with chemical handling, storage, and dosing systems.

Skills and Experience:

  • Previous experience working with aspects of Water Quality Management Systems and/or Maintenance Management Systems.
  • Strong knowledge of water quality requirements as they relate to potable water.
  • Recognised proficiency with chemical handling, storage, and dosing systems.

Personal Qualities:

  • Ability to interpret analytical and other data to inform corrective actions and process improvement initiatives.
  • A current Driver's Licence.

Desirable Criteria:

  • Certificate III in Water Industry Operations or relevant experience in potable water works.
  • An understanding of the Australian Drinking Water Guidelines.
  • Sound working knowledge of scientific field and laboratory equipment and techniques.
