Energy Trader Job Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced and skilled Energy Trader to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of energy markets and be able to execute trades to optimize our position.

This is a challenging and rewarding role that requires the ability to work independently, with initiative and time management skills. The successful candidate will have a bachelor's degree in a quantitative discipline and proficiency in Microsoft Office tools.

The Energy Trader will be based in our Perth office and will be part of the Energy Trading team. Traders execute real-time trades to optimise our company's position based on a deep understanding of short-term drivers such as generation, demand, transmission, and regulation.

Key Responsibilities
  • Trade the portfolio to create value and manage market exposure.
  • Convert analytical findings into meaningful and actionable insights for diverse audiences.
  • Coordinate and conduct bespoke market analysis to optimise trading strategies.
  • Develop, maintain, and improve models for high-quality analysis.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree (Quantitative disciplines are an advantage).
  • Ability to work without supervision, with initiative and time management skills.
  • Ability to read market conditions and make quick decisions based on limited information.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools; VBA and other coding languages are an advantage.
