Job Summary

We're seeking a highly skilled GIS Specialist Data Engineer to join our team. As a GIS Specialist Data Engineer, you will design, develop, and maintain geospatial data solutions, integrating GIS functionalities into business processes to enhance data-driven decision-making.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and develop GIS databases, applications, and spatial data workflows
  • Integrate GIS solutions with business processes to enhance data-driven decision-making
  • Conduct spatial analysis and data modeling to derive insights and recommendations
  • Ensure data quality, accuracy, and integrity within GIS databases and applications
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement GIS solutions that meet client requirements
  • Provide technical expertise and support to stakeholders on GIS tools, methodologies, and best practices
  • Manage and optimize geospatial data infrastructure and systems
Requirements
  • Proven experience as a GIS Specialist or Data Engineer with NV1 clearance
  • Proficiency in GIS software (e.g., Arc GIS, QGIS), spatial databases (e.g., Postgre SQL, Oracle Spatial), and geospatial data formats (e.g., Geo JSON, Shapefile)
  • Strong skills in spatial analysis, data modeling, and visualization techniques
  • Experience in developing GIS applications or workflows using programming languages (e.g., Python, Java Script)
  • Knowledge of cloud-based GIS solutions and platforms (e.g., Arc GIS Online, Google Earth Engine) is advantageous
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively with diverse teams and stakeholders
  • Bachelor's degree in Geography, Geomatics, Computer Science, or a related field; relevant certifications preferred
