Job SummaryWe are seeking a GIS Specialist Data Engineer to join our team. As a GIS Specialist Data Engineer, you will design, develop, and maintain geospatial data solutions, integrating GIS functionalities into business processes to enhance data-driven decision-making.
Key Responsibilities- Design and develop GIS databases, applications, and spatial data workflows.
- Integrate GIS solutions with business processes to improve data accuracy and usability.
- Conduct spatial analysis and data modeling to derive insights and recommendations.
- Ensure data quality, accuracy, and integrity within GIS databases and applications.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement GIS solutions that meet client requirements.
- Provide technical expertise and support to stakeholders on GIS tools, methodologies, and best practices.
- Manage and optimize geospatial data infrastructure and systems.
- Adhere to security and compliance standards, including NV1 clearance requirements.
- Stay updated with industry trends and advancements in GIS technology.
- Proven experience as a GIS Specialist or Data Engineer with NV1 clearance.
- Proficiency in GIS software (e.g., ArcGIS, QGIS), spatial databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, Oracle Spatial), and geospatial data formats (e.g., GeoJSON, Shapefile).
- Strong skills in spatial analysis, data modeling, and visualization techniques.
- Experience in developing GIS applications or workflows using programming languages (e.g., Python, JavaScript).
- Knowledge of cloud-based GIS solutions and platforms (e.g., ArcGIS Online, Google Earth Engine) is advantageous.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively with diverse teams and stakeholders.
- Bachelor's degree in Geography, Geomatics, Computer Science, or a related field; relevant certifications preferred.
