Governance and Compliance Professional

The Governance and Public Officer role is a challenging position that requires expertise in governance and compliance frameworks. The successful candidate will be responsible for liaising between the Council and the public, ensuring effective management of Council's governance and procurement systems.
This integral role directly impacts the Council and the community, and we are seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to join our leadership team.
- Develop and implement policies, processes, and procedures for governance and compliance.
- Manage customer access to information via Council documents and Freedom of Information applications.
- Oversee the development of Council's procurement policy framework.
- Prepare and distribute Council meeting agendas, business papers, and minutes.
- Provide support and guidance to Councillors on their statutory obligations.
- Manage and maintain an efficient system for handling complaints and enquiries.
- More than 10 years of experience in a similar role with broad managerial responsibilities.
- A degree in Law, Business Administration, or a related discipline.
- Extensive experience in governance and procurement, preferably within local government.
- Demonstrated experience in implementing governance frameworks, managing compliance, and overseeing meeting protocols.
- Highly proficient in developing and implementing governance and procurement policies, systems, procedures, processes, and controls.
