Family Violence Specialist

About the Role:

We have an exciting opportunity to work as a Family Violence Specialist within a specialist service providing first response to those seeking assistance after family violence and child well-being concerns.

The role is focused on providing short-term support to individuals impacted by family violence, including advice and referrals.

The primary focus is on risk management, safety planning, and making appropriate referrals.

The Family Violence Specialist will also conduct child wellbeing checks and complete child wellbeing assessments.

Additionally, the role involves completing risk assessments on people using violence and MARAM's with Victim Survivors.

The specialist must adhere to documentation and record keeping requirements.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide short-term support to individuals impacted by family violence.
  • Focus on risk management, safety planning, and making appropriate referrals.
  • Conduct child wellbeing checks and complete child wellbeing assessments.
  • Complete risk assessments on people using violence.
  • Complete MARAM's with Victim Survivors.
Requirements and Qualifications:
  • Demonstrated experience working with children, families, and family violence cases with complex needs and risk issues.
  • Resilience to work with and support clients who have been exposed to trauma.
  • Ability to identify, assess, and prioritise risks and needs of clients using a whole-family approach.
