Key Roles in Municipal Maintenance

This position involves undertaking a range of civil maintenance and construction activities across the municipality.

  • The successful candidate will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and conducting general maintenance works on the Council's road network to identify and rectify defects.

Responsibilities include:

  • Liaising with team leaders to ensure civil maintenance works are planned and coordinated as required.
  • Conducting maintenance works on the Council's road network, including installing and maintaining signage, painting and line marking roads and footpaths, and installing & maintaining various stormwater infrastructure components.
  • Carrying out the general maintenance to various council assets.
  • Undertaking traffic control in accordance with relevant policies.
  • Working in accordance with relevant Safe Work Method Statements (SWMS).

We offer:

  • A permanent full-time role with a nine-day working fortnight equating to a 38-hour week.
  • An annual salary from $57,976 to $63,919, dependent on qualifications, skills and experience.
  • 12% superannuation, payment of licenses, tickets and courses essential for your role, access to employee assistance programs and two paid health and wellbeing days each year.

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A minimum Class C Drivers Licence.
  • A WHS construction induction white card.
  • A Safe Work NSW Traffic Controller - TC certification.
  • A Safe Work NSW Implement Traffic Control Plan – IMP certification.

Bonus skills include any of the following:

  • A MR Drivers Licence.
  • A Level 1 Chainsaw Operator's Certificate.
  • A ChemCert Certificate.
  • A Safe Work NSW Prepare a Work zone Traffic Management Plan – PW certification.
  • Recent Civil Maintenance & Construction Experience.
