As a Locum Mental Health Registered Nurse, you will work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams to deliver high-quality patient-centered care, manage acute and chronic patient needs, and contribute to clinical quality improvement initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct comprehensive assessments, develop and evaluate care plans, and administer medication as needed
  • Collaborate effectively with patients, families, and colleagues to ensure holistic patient care and coordinate discharge planning
  • Maintain accurate documentation, adhere to infection control protocols, and promote a safe and supportive environment
  • Participate in ongoing education and professional development to enhance skills and knowledge

Requirements:

  • Current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse without restrictions
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in mental health nursing, preferably in community, inpatient, or acute settings
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage effectively with patients and colleagues
  • Strong ability to work within a multidisciplinary team and adapt to changing priorities and situations
  • Valid driver's license preferred for regional and remote community-based settings
  • Willingness to relocate to Tasmania or regional Queensland and commit to travel nursing contracts for at least 12 weeks
