
Retail Operations Director

The Store Manager plays a pivotal role in driving the success of our retail operations. Reporting directly to the Area Manager, this key individual is responsible for leading a high-performing team to achieve exceptional sales results and deliver outstanding customer experiences.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement strategies to drive sales growth and improve overall store performance.
- Lead, motivate, and develop a talented team to achieve commercial targets and exceed customer expectations.
- Establish strong relationships with builders, suppliers, stakeholders, and the local community to foster business growth and development.
- Manage and coordinate leave applications, ensure alignment with roster requirements, and maintain optimal staffing levels.
- Recruit, onboard, and mentor staff as needed to drive talent acquisition and retention.
- Oversee stock control, including ordering, stock transfers, and merchandising, to optimize inventory levels and maximize revenue.
- Collaborate effectively with multi-functional teams and other store managers to drive cross-functional initiatives and achieve business objectives.
- Contribute to the overall success of the business by driving retail and trade sales, profit margins, and training and development programs.
Requirements:
- A minimum of 5 years' experience in a store or assistant store manager role within the hardware retail industry.
- Proven ability to recruit, motivate, and lead a team through change, demonstrating strong leadership and interpersonal skills.
- Sales-focused and goal-driven, with a strong track record of achieving commercial targets.
- Excellent communication, mentoring, and problem-solving skills, with a passion for creating exceptional customer experiences.
