Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure that specimens are handled, stored, prepared and distributed appropriately.
  • Centrifuge specimens where necessary and prepare the required number of accurately labelled aliquots.
  • Assist with the receipt of pathology specimens, including data entry.
  • Prepare specimens for analysis/examination, transport or storage.
Job Requirements
  • An Associate Diploma from a recognised tertiary institution, or an equivalent qualification, appropriate to the nature of the work.
  • Registration/licences that are essential requirements of this role must remain current and valid at all times whilst employed in this role.

In order to achieve this, we are looking for individuals who have:

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • A high level of attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

The successful applicant will be responsible for determining if samples and request forms are appropriate for analysis, preparing specimens for analysis/examination, transport or storage, and assisting with the receipt of pathology specimens, including data entry. They will also be responsible for ensuring that specimens are handled, stored, prepared and distributed appropriately, centrifuging specimens where necessary and preparing the required number of accurately labelled aliquots.
