Your Role:

We are seeking an experienced Research Assistant and Support Officer to provide administrative, technical, and research support to the NHMRC Investigator (EL1) grant holder. This role involves managing reporting requirements, maintaining the team inbox, providing research support, supporting post-award management, helping streamline processes and procedures for the Investigator Grant team, and assisting with other consultancy and contract research activities.

You will work closely with students and the research team, and some national and international travel may be required.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage reporting requirements and maintain accurate records
  • Maintain the team inbox and respond to inquiries
  • Provide research support, including data analysis and literature searches
  • Support post-award management, including budgeting and financial reporting
  • Help streamline processes and procedures for the Investigator Grant team
  • Assist with other consultancy and contract research activities

Requirements:

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • Demonstrated experience in providing administrative, research, and grant support services
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work with diverse stakeholders
  • Strong organisational and time management skills, with the ability to meet deadlines
  • Sound computing skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office suite and Endnote library maintenance
  • A demonstrated understanding of scientific and research processes and terminology
  • Experience in planning and conducting systematic reviews (desirable)
