Job Title: Heavy Vehicle Diesel Mechanic

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Heavy Vehicle Diesel Mechanic to join our team in maintaining our fleet of heavy vehicles.

This is a hands-on role that requires strong mechanical skills, attention to detail, and excellent problem-solving abilities. The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting regular scheduled servicing, carrying out inspections, oil changes, filter replacements, and brake servicing.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Servicing and maintenance of heavy vehicles including Kenworth trucks
  • Identifying and reporting wear and tear issues before they lead to breakdowns
  • Performing minor mechanical repairs and assisting with more complex repairs as required
  • Maintaining accurate service checklists and maintenance records
  • Ensuring the workshop is clean, organized, and compliant with safety regulations

Requirements:

  • Trade qualifications in Automotive Mechanics (Heavy Road Transport) are essential
  • Demonstrated work experience as a Mechanic is required
  • Knowledge of Kenworth Trucks is highly regarded
  • Experience with the maintenance of fuel trucks and trailers is desirable
  • Proven culture of safety and understanding of hazard identification and risk assessment processes
  • Ability to positively interact with customers and colleagues
