Supply Chain Engineer - Mechanical Expertise

This role plays a pivotal part in supporting the maritime build program through supplier technical reviews and quality assessments, utilising mechanical engineering qualifications.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Ensure engineering design requirements for naval applications comply with shipbuilding codes and technical specifications, guaranteeing high-quality outcomes.
  • Identify potential suppliers to support procurement plans, conducting thorough pre-qualification reviews of manufacturers and suppliers, fostering robust partnerships.
  • Participate in on-site supplier assessments, comparing international standards and evaluating Objective Quality Evidence (OQE), promoting transparency and accountability.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Australian citizenship with NV1 Security Clearance eligibility.
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, eligible for Engineers Australia membership, showcasing strong educational foundations.
  • Knowledge of systems and technologies relevant to Australian shipbuilding, ensuring adaptability and innovation.
  • Strong commercial acumen and ability to prioritise and set work standards, driving efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Excellent communication skills and experience in the Defence shipbuilding industry, advantageous for success in this role.
