Domestic Violence Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled professional to fill a challenging role.
About the RoleThis position involves providing support and services to individuals who have experienced domestic and family violence. The ideal candidate will be able to work effectively in a team environment, communicate with clients, and provide assistance with various tasks.
Main Responsibilities- Conduct initial risk assessments and develop safety plans for clients.
- Provide counseling, psychoeducation, and group work to support clients in overcoming domestic and family violence.
- Offer court support and advocacy services to ensure clients' needs are met.
- Help clients identify goals and immediate needs to increase their safety, agency, and autonomy.
- Make referrals and assess eligibility for safety upgrades and other practical support.
- PARTicipate in meetings and collaborate with local stakeholders, such as Police, Child Safety, Corrections, and Housing.
- A degree in Social Work, Psychology, Social Science or Behavioural Science is required, along with eligibility for membership of APS, AASW, PACFA or ACA (mandatory).
- A current QLD Working with Children Check or willingness to apply is necessary.
- Evidence of Australian Work Rights is also required.
- A Current Police Check within the last three months is mandatory.
- A valid driver's licence is essential for this role.
