Job Description

WAAPA's Bachelor of Performing Arts is seeking experienced, inspirational lecturers to join the team at a pivotal moment for WAAPA at Edith Cowan University. As part of our Performance Making major, students start with intensive training in voice and movement studies, before advancing to original, self-devised and collaborative approaches to creating, producing, and presenting independent contemporary performance projects.

Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Qualifications: Relevant tertiary qualifications (ideally PhD, but a minimum of Masters level) or equivalent professional industry experience.
  • Teaching Experience: A proven track-record as a lecturer in performance studies, theatre studies or an allied discipline at a tertiary level.
  • Curriculum: Demonstrated capacity to develop, coordinate and review teaching curriculum in the performance making discipline at a tertiary level.
  • Administration: Demonstrated experience in working efficiently and confidently with teaching-related administration such as budget management, marks and assessment management.
  • Professional Standing: Evidenced experience as a practitioner and/or lecturer at tertiary level in contemporary theatre and performance.
  • Industry Connections: Demonstrated capacity to build strategic networks and collaborative relationships with industry.
  • Equity: Demonstrated commitment to equity and inclusion.
