Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Ranger to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the operation of heavy plant and equipment on K'gari (Fraser Island). They will work collaboratively with management units to deliver the annual works program aligned with current strategies.

The role is diverse, requiring field and office tasks such as procurement, data management, project coordination and shift reporting. Strong 4WD skills are essential, as the individual will navigate remote, tide-dependent areas with limited resources.

Responsibilities
  • Operate the Heavy Plant and Equipment fleet in support of the annual works program.
  • Collaborate with management units to deliver program outcomes in line with current strategies.
  • Perform field and office tasks including procurement, data management, project coordination and shift reporting.
  • Navigate remote, tide-dependent areas with limited resources, requiring strong 4WD skills and problem solving.
  • Contribute to Assets Management programs and support asset management initiatives.
  • Support staff supervision, workplace health and safety, and natural resource management as required.
Qualifications and Requirements
  • Experience in staff supervision, leadership, workplace health and safety, and natural resource management.
  • Strong demonstrated skills in Heavy Plant operations and assets management.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and implement Assets Management programs.
  • Ability to work in a high visitation area with weekend and school holiday shifts as required.
