About the Role

As a Chef Manager at Bupaoptical, you will be responsible for leading a high-functioning kitchen and catering service, providing quality, well-presented, and nutritious meals that meet resident dining preferences and needs. You will work closely with our Lifestyle team to ensure all activities and events are appropriately planned and catered for.

Key Responsibilities

  • Run an efficient and high-quality dining and catering service for residents
  • Collaborate with the Lifestyle team to plan and cater for activities and events
  • Ensure specialist resident dietary requirements are met
  • Prepare main dishes for lunch and dinner
  • Oversee food purchasing, storage, handling, and preparation
  • Implement infection control principles and practices
  • Complete paperwork promptly and correctly
  • Identify training needs and requirements of Catering Staff

Requirements

  • Certificate in Commercial Cookery or equivalent
  • Aged Care/Hotel/Restaurant experience preferred
  • Effective time management, organisational skills, and budget management
  • Previous experience in leading a team and managing a budget
  • Understanding of Food Audits
  • Demonstrated experience working within a multidisciplinary team and ability to effectively liaise with stakeholders
  • Strong interpersonal skills and a customer service focus
