Senior Accounting Professional

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Accountant to join our Group Reporting and Advisory team at AGL. As a key member of our team, you will play a critical role in supporting our response to sustainability reporting requirements, providing high-quality technical accounting advice, and maintaining our enterprise-wide accounting policies.
Key Responsibilities- Work closely with the sustainability reporting team to assess, plan, and implement controls and processes to ensure AGL's compliance with existing and emerging ESG reporting requirements.
- Provide expert advice on complex accounting transactions, including mergers, acquisitions, disposals, derivatives, and legal entity accounting.
- Develop and maintain AGL's portfolio of enterprise-wide accounting policies, ensuring they remain fit for purpose as the business evolves.
- Contribute to the professional growth and continuous learning of AGL's broader finance team.
- Prepare and coordinate board-level reports that provide strategic insights into key judgments applied by the group.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders across all levels of seniority and across business lines.
- Coordinate with external auditors to facilitate the audit process, ensuring all financial reporting is in line with required standards.
- Oversee and manage reporting-related projects, ensuring they are delivered on time and within scope.
We are looking for an experienced Senior Accountant with a strong background in technical accounting, consolidation accounting, and complex accounting matters. You will have a qualified accounting designation (CA/CPA) and consulting experience, preferably with a Big 4 firm. You will also have experience with large ERP systems, advanced stakeholder management skills, and the ability to work proactively with limited supervision.
