Job Title: Head of Finance

Job Description:

Lead financial strategy & management for a high-profile defence program with significant national importance | Highly Influential role

  • Lead the setup and management of a new, high-impact defence initiative
  • Work closely with top executives and key stakeholders.
  • Play a crucial role in enhancing Australia's defence capabilities

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and manage the financial strategy for the defence program
  • Collaborate with ASC's build partner to define the financial approach for establishing new business
  • Deliver long-term, effective, and sustainable financial solutions to support the success of the strategic defence program
  • Prepare and conduct financial planning analysis, managing financial transactions & providing financial decision support
  • Identify, assess and mitigate financial risks
  • Align activities with ASC's Strategy and assist ASC to meet any relevant contractual deliverables
  • Provide leadership to Programs finance team ensuring team members are provided with direction and attainable yet challenging performance targets

Requirements:

  • Highly experienced finance leader with over 10 years in a senior and influential role
  • Demonstrated experience in development and management of financial strategy for the establishment of new business
  • Proven experience in strategic financial planning
  • Strong knowledge and understanding of financial principles, including reporting, budgeting, forecasting, financial analysis, and risk management
  • Experience in building relationships with key stakeholders (internal and external) in a large complex organisation
  • Experience in shipbuilding, defence or a heavy industrial industry (or similar)
  • Demonstrated experience upholding high ethical standards and integrity in financial reporting and business practices
