Community Outreach Specialist Role

The role of Community Outreach Specialist is a pivotal position within our organization, requiring an individual who can effectively engage with local communities and provide high-level constituency support.

As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for assisting the Member of Parliament in community engagement and stakeholder outreach. This includes responding to enquiries from constituents, community organizations, and businesses, as well as providing strategic advice on issues impacting the electorate.

  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with local stakeholders and community groups.
  • Provide exceptional written and verbal communication skills to convey complex information in a clear and concise manner.
  • Assist in the management of community grants programs, ensuring that funds are allocated efficiently and effectively.
  • Travel to Canberra as required to collaborate with other government agencies and stakeholders.

Key Skills and Qualifications:

  • Strong understanding of local issues and government services.
  • High-level problem-solving skills and ability to think critically.
  • Excellent administrative and office IT skills.
  • Ability to work cooperatively and maintain confidentiality.
  • Proven experience in working in a dynamic environment.

Benefits Package:

  • Salary range: $76,910 - $89,793 (dependent on experience).
  • Optional Electorate Staff Allowance may be considered.
  • 15.49% employer superannuation contribution.

Applicants should note that an initial probationary period of three months will apply and may be subject to extension. The successful applicant may be required to undergo a National Police History Check and obtain a Negative Vetting Level 2 security clearance.
