Operative Support Role

The operative support assistant plays a pivotal part in the efficient operation of the operating theatre environment, working under the direction of a senior nurse. This position involves a seven-day roster with on-call and overtime responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist with patient transfers to and from the Operating Theatre, ensuring a seamless transition between stages of care.
  • Position patients safely in the operating theatre after competency assessment has been completed.
  • Apply Diathermy plates and positioning equipment within the operating theatre suite following competency assessment.
  • Maintain a safe and clean environment by regularly cleaning the area before, during, and after theatre lists are completed.
Requirements:
  • Recent experience in an Operating Theatre setting is highly desirable.
  • Strong willingness to learn and adapt to new situations.
  • Commitment to delivering exceptional customer service.
  • Demonstrated communication, organisational, and interpersonal skills are essential.
