Job Title: Space Planning Manager

At Foot Locker, we're looking for a skilled Space Planning Manager to join our team. As a key member of our Merch Business Operations department, you'll play a crucial role in delivering market development strategies and optimizing store layouts to maximize sales potential.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Support the Director in evaluating market needs and advising on sales growth strategies.
  • Apply strategic Space Planning guidance through store projects to maximize sales opportunities.
  • Work closely with the Allocation team to execute the Buyer's vision and strategy.
  • Review weekly performance by style and category against plan and forecast.
  • Implement in-season SKU count control to reduce inventory levels and optimize product storytelling.
  • Communicate weekly with the product team on issues related to product and fixture balance.
  • Track and report on store capacity.
  • Conduct deep dives into ROI of summary groups based on space and sales return, and provide details for further optimization opportunities.
  • Support in identifying market needs, missed opportunities, stock/sizing issues, and competitor best practices.
  • Leverage the partnership with the FLAP Store Development team to work on necessary projects.
  • Collaborate with the global Space Planning teams to ensure synergistic strategies and share best practices.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Business or Marketing or equivalent.
  • Minimum 4-7 years' experience in retail Space Planning or Allocation.
  • Strong analytical and conceptual skills, with the ability to draw conclusions from numerical data and derive strategies to increase overall profitability.
  • Strong computer skills and experience with database management and content management.
  • Superior communication skills and ability to influence, with a natural ability to engage others in buying into a vision or solution.
  • Proactive communication, energy, and inspires trust.
  • Strong level of autonomy and self-accountability, with the ability to formulate solutions prior to escalating issues.
  • Able to work as part of a team and coordinate activities with other departments in an engaging way.
  • Ability to work under pressure, tight deadlines, and changing priorities.
  • Excellent project management skills with a hands-on attitude, able to drive and manage projects from concept to roll-out execution.
