Overview

The Foot Locker Store Planning team is looking for a highly skilled Senior Retail Space Planner to support the Director of Merchandise Business Operations in delivering and executing market development strategies across our global store network.

This role requires strong analytical and strategic vision, with the ability to draw conclusions from numerical data (sales, digital traffic) and derive strategies aiming at increasing overall profitability. The ideal candidate will have experience in retail space planning or allocation, with a proven track record of driving sales growth and optimizing product assortment.

Main Responsibilities

  • Support the Director in evaluating and analyzing market needs to advise on the best course of action for sales growth
  • Analyze sales data and customer behavior to inform space planning decisions and optimize product assortment
  • Work closely with the Allocation team to execute buyer's vision/strategy and ensure optimal product placement
  • Review weekly performance by style and category against plan and forecast
  • Control in-season SKU count to reduce inventory levels and optimize product storytelling in-store
  • Communicate weekly with product teams on issues where product and fixtures are out of balance
  • Track and report on store capacity
  • Deep dive into ROI of summary groups based on space & sales return, and provide detail for further optimization opportunities
  • Support in identifying market needs, missed opportunities, stock/sizing issues, and competitor's best practices;
  • Leverage the strength and partnership with the FLAP Store Development team to partner on necessary projects

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Business/Marketing or equivalent
  • Minimum 4-7 years' experience in retail space planning or allocation
  • Strong analytical and conceptual skills: ability to draw conclusions from numerical data and derive strategies aiming at increasing overall profitability
  • Strong computer skills and experience with database management, content management desirable
  • Superior communication skills and ability to influence; natural ability to engage others into buying into a vision or solution, while keeping an open mind to others' opinions
  • Proactive communication, energy, and inspires trust
  • Strong level of autonomy and self-accountability; acquired ability to formulate solutions prior to escalating issues and keep sensitive of all risks and impacts of solutions.
  • Able to work as part of a team and coordinate activities with other departments in an engaging way
  • Ability to work under pressure, tight deadlines, and changing priorities
