Job Description

About this role:

The Carer Engagement Advisor undertakes statewide outreach activities for the Carer Gateway program, promoting and raising awareness of the service to diverse communities.

  • Work collaboratively with consortia partners to identify service gaps and develop community development strategies.
  • Coordinate and conduct outreach activities such as information sessions and community forums to raise awareness of and promote the Carer Gateway.
  • Develop strategies to engage carers from diverse communities, including culturally and linguistically diverse, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander, and newly emerging communities.
  • Support consortia partners in conducting outreach activities that improve the health and wellbeing of caring families and promote community participation and social inclusion.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Working collaboratively with consortia partners to guide outreach activities within all regions across Victoria.
  • Coordinating and conducting outreach activities to targeted groups from diverse backgrounds.
  • Developing partnerships and referral pathways with organisations to support the Carer Gateway outcomes.

Requirements:

  • Tertiary qualifications in Community Development, Health Promotion, Social Work or equivalent discipline or experience.
  • Sound understanding of collective impact principles.
  • Demonstrated experience in creating and maintaining effective partnerships with a broad range of stakeholders.
