- 24/7 Coverage: Provide round-the-clock medical coverage in ED with two rotating shifts per day (GP VMO or CMO).
- Inpatient Ward: Contribute to a 12-bed inpatient ward including Fast Track service, promoting efficient patient flow and outcomes.
As a Career Medical Officer in Emergency Medicine, you will have access to:
- Strong clinical and operational support from the Director of Medical Services at Maitland Hospital.
- Access to HNELHD's patient flow resources and retrieval services.
- A collegial, team-oriented culture focused on high-quality rural healthcare.
To be successful in this role, you will require:
- Current General Registration with AHPRA with at least three years post-graduate experience.
- High-level skills and involvement in clinical care, supervision, mentoring, and teaching.
- Ideal completion of a specialist fellowship such as ACCRM or FRACGP or ACEM Emergency Medicine Certificate or Diploma.
- Demonstrated competence in managing undifferentiated Adult and Paediatric emergencies.
- Ability to exercise moderate professional independence.
- Excellent interpersonal communication and team skills for effective working within health care organisations and the outside community.
- Evidence of participation in continuing professional development.
