Job Description:

The Building Manager is responsible for leading construction operations in the Hunter and Mid North Coast regions, ensuring safety, cost management, logistics, construction programming, quality, and environmental performance.

This role involves providing safety leadership, executing the construction strategy, driving the achievement of Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), and actively participating in weekly team meetings to resolve action items.

The Building Manager will also lead, support, and govern the Construction & Maintenance/Warranty teams, coordinate subcontractor and supplier selection, and identify opportunities to improve construction processes, safety, customer experience, and programs.

The ideal candidate will have a tertiary qualification in Building and Construction or equivalent trade experience, previous experience in a construction management role with expertise in project management across multiple sites, and strong leadership skills.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide safety leadership and ensure WH&S is at the forefront
  • Execute the construction strategy and drive KPI achievement
  • Participate in weekly team meetings and resolve action items
  • Lead and govern the Construction & Maintenance/Warranty teams
  • Coordinate subcontractor and supplier selection
  • Identify opportunities to improve construction processes and safety
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Tertiary qualification in Building and Construction or equivalent trade experience
  • Previous experience in a construction management role with expertise in project management
  • Proven leadership skills and strong focus on mentoring and coaching
  • Excellent understanding of building regulations and ability to ensure homes are built to standards
  • Ability to lead and drive a team to deliver high-quality projects
