About the Role

We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Waste Management Officer to assist in the operation of Council's waste and recycling business. The successful candidate will provide labouring and plant operation support to contribute to the efficient delivery of waste management services to the community, while maintaining a professional and courteous public image.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide labouring and plant operation support to assist in the efficient delivery of waste management services.
  • Contribute to the maintenance of a professional and courteous public image.
  • Work collaboratively with the Coordinator Waste Management to achieve team goals and objectives.
  • Develop and implement strategies to improve waste management services and reduce waste.
  • Provide excellent customer service and respond to customer inquiries in a timely and professional manner.
Requirements
  • Class C driver licence with the ability to operate manual transmission.
  • Experience in the waste management industry.
  • Demonstrated experience in and ability to undertake physical labouring duties.
  • Proven good communication skills, both oral and written.
  • Willingness and ability to work rostered shifts; including regular work outside normal working hours.
What We Offer
  • A salary range of $55,600 to $78,100 (plus 11.5% superannuation) dependent upon shifts (higher weekend penalty rates), skills, and experience.
