Job Summary

Maintenance Fitter

We are seeking an experienced Maintenance Fitter to join our team. This is a key role in ensuring the smooth operation and reliability of our machinery and equipment.

Main Responsibilities:

  1. Equipment Repair and Maintenance: Respond to machinery breakdowns, perform repairs, and ensure effective operation to minimize downtime and maximize efficiency.
  2. Preventative Maintenance: Contribute to the development and execution of the annual preventative maintenance program and overhaul schedule.
  3. Machinery Operation: Ensure effective operation of all machinery and equipment.
  4. Capital Works: Assist with the purchase, construction, and installation of new machinery as required.
  5. Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for improvement and implement innovative solutions to enhance cost, quality, and service.
  6. Safety and Compliance: Adhere to all safety policies and procedures, actively participate in safety initiatives, and report any incidents or hazards.
  7. Teamwork: Collaborate with colleagues, management, and external contractors to share knowledge and contribute to a positive team culture.

Requirements:

  • Experience in the food manufacturing industry.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and engineering skills.
  • Proficiency in diagnosing and repairing faults in pumps, gearboxes, and other machinery.
  • Experience with hydraulics, pneumatics, and steam processes is highly desirable.
  • Familiarity with filling, seaming, and packaging equipment is a plus.

Qualifications:

  • A Mechanical trade certificate in fitting and machining.
  • A Welding certificate (MMAW and GTAW processes).
