Job Title: Aboriginal Communications Specialist

We are seeking an Aboriginal communications specialist to join our team for a 12-month fixed-term opportunity.

The successful candidate will deliver internal and external communications, provide strategic advice and support for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communications, and engage with internal stakeholders to develop and implement successful communication and engagement plans.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Deliver internal and external communications and provide strategic advice and support for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communications.
  • Engage with internal stakeholders to develop, craft, and implement successful communication and engagement plans.
  • Work with the corporate affairs team and other subject matter experts across the business to ensure communications are coordinated, aligned, and consistent.
  • Establish measures of success for communications and report on activities.
Requirements:
  • Degree qualification in communications, public relations, media management or a related field.
  • Considerable experience in Aboriginal employee engagement, stakeholder, and issues management.
  • Considerable experience in drafting strategic communication and engagement plans, including tactical communication plans and key messages.
  • Substantial experience in delivering communication programs and providing advice and support at a corporate level in a large service-based organization.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of past policies and legislations impacting Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people.

This role supports reconciliation action planning and yesterday today tomorrow strategy.
