Job Title: Census Outreach Coordinator

">Job Description
  • Coordinate and deliver outreach activities for the 2026 Census in remote areas of Australia.
  • Maintain accurate records of engagement activities via a designated system.
Key Responsibilities
  1. Plan and execute outreach programs to promote Census participation among local communities.
  2. Establish and maintain relationships with community leaders, service providers, and local government representatives.
  3. Collaborate with Census and ABS staff to achieve shared goals.
  4. Gather support from Local Government and community organizations for the Census initiative.
Requirements
  • Demonstrated experience or knowledge in working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Previous experience in a similar role or industry.
  • Knowledge of Australian cultures and languages.

Applicants who have lived in or worked in the nominated area will be highly regarded. We require an understanding of and ability to communicate effectively with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and communities.
