Recreational Activities Officer

About the Role:

As the Recreational Activities Officer, you will be accountable to the Facility Manager and the Director of Care for the day-to-day management of the resident lifestyle program. Your main responsibility is to ensure that residents' social and recreational needs are assessed and carried out, through the development of a therapeutic lifestyle program.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement a therapeutic lifestyle program that meets the social and recreational needs of residents.
  • Assess residents' needs and preferences to ensure that programs are engaging and relevant.
  • Collaborate with the Facility Manager and Director of Care to ensure that programs align with the facility's goals and objectives.
  • Manage and maintain records of resident participation and feedback.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with external providers to ensure access to resources and services.

Requirements:

  • Recognised relevant qualification in Diversional Therapy, cert IV in Leisure and Health and/or equivalent.
  • Experience in or assisting with formulating, facilitating and evaluating activity programs in aged care.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Motivated with an ability to work on their own initiative as well as part of a team.
  • A strong passion for quality in aged care.
  • Strong values of Empathy, Honesty, Respect and Loyalty.
  • Good administration/documentation skills.
  • Intermediate Computer Skills.
