Job Title:

The Painting Specialist is responsible for applying coatings and paint applications, sand-blasting, and performing other tasks relative to industrial coatings.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Apply coatings through conventional, airless, and plural spray systems
  • Mix paints to desired colours and consistencies while adhering to industry standards
  • Prepare and paint or abrasive blast various surfaces using a variety of liquid finishes
  • Maintain appropriate paint stock inventory in line with business requirements
  • Clean, sand, sandblast, scrape, brush, etch and burn surfaces in preparation for spraying
  • Dis-assembly and re-assembly of components as required to carry out the painting and blasting functions
  • Mix materials for proper application
  • Erect ladders, staging and various other items to gain access to different areas
  • Repair surfaces to be sprayed/painted, including plastering and sheetrock finishing
  • Adjust equipment to maintain proper spray application and clean equipment
  • Carry out test procedures as required to confirm compliance of work with relevant standards
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Minimum of 3 years Painting/Blasting experience
  • IPAF/ Slinger/Signaller/Confined Spaces/Forklift certification
  • Ability to work under own initiative
  • Ability to source information and keep up with new technologies
