Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver quality support and services tailored to the unique needs and goals of individuals with a mental illness.
  • Assist individuals with daily living skills, including personal hygiene and household tasks.
  • Mentor clients in building productive relationships and utilizing effective conflict resolution strategies.
  • Encourage healthy living habits and facilitate access to community resources.
  • Collaborate with families, carers, government agencies, and community services to promote the rights, responsibilities, and recovery of program participants.

Requirements:

  • Cert IV in mental health or community services related discipline (ideally a completed diploma or Bachelors).
  • Effective listening, empathy, and communication skills.
  • Experience working with people experiencing mental illness.
  • Ability to remain calm and deal sensitively with distressed individuals.
  • Understanding of duty of care, rights to privacy and confidentiality.
  • Competence with Microsoft Office applications.
  • Availability for overnight shifts and rotating 24/7 rosters.
  • Eligibility to apply/currently hold a Blue Card.
  • NDIS worker screening clearance.
