Disability Support Role

The Disability Support Role involves providing high-quality person-centered support to individuals with intellectual, mental health and/or physical disabilities.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Providing individualized support to meet each client's unique needs and goals
  • Assisting with daily living tasks, such as bathing, dressing, and grooming
  • Supporting clients with mobility issues, using equipment as needed
  • Preparing and serving meals and snacks, ensuring dietary requirements are met
  • Encouraging clients to engage in activities that promote physical and emotional well-being

To succeed in this role, you will need outstanding interpersonal, communication and resilience skills. You must also be creative and resourceful, able to adapt to changing situations and work effectively with diverse individuals.

Required qualifications include a Certificate III or above in disability, aged care, community care or a willingness to obtain within 12 months of employment. A current First Aid Certificate, valid Driver License, Police clearance, and NDIS workers orientation module certificate are mandatory.
