Deliver High-Quality Maternity Care in Rural Australia
Are you a dedicated and experienced midwife looking for a challenging opportunity to make a meaningful impact in rural communities? We are seeking passionate and credentialed Registered Midwives to join our team and support maternity services in rural and remote areas of Australia.
About the Role
This is an exciting opportunity to work in a variety of clinical settings, often with limited resources, in rural and remote communities. As a Registered Midwife, you will be responsible for delivering evidence-based midwifery care across the continuum of pregnancy, labour, birth, and postnatal periods. You will collaborate with multidisciplinary healthcare teams to ensure safe and culturally appropriate services, provide responsive, compassionate, and person-centred care, and promote and maintain a safe, respectful, and culturally sensitive environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality midwifery care to women and their families in rural and remote communities
- Collaborate with healthcare teams to ensure safe and effective care
- Provide education and support to women and their families on pregnancy, childbirth, and postnatal care
- Maintain accurate and comprehensive records of patient care
Required Qualifications and Experience
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- Current and unrestricted registration as a Midwife with AHPRA
- A minimum of 3 years of full-time midwifery experience
- A minimum of 250 hours of relevant clinical midwifery practice within the past 12 months
- Currency in CTG training in accordance with RANZCOG guidelines
- Evidence of current CPR or Basic Life Support (BLS) training with a practical component
What We Offer
We offer competitive daily pay rates, flexible locum contracts, and opportunities to explore regional and remote Australia. You will also have access to paid travel, accommodation, and meals while on placement, and the chance to make a meaningful impact where your skills are needed most.
How to Apply
If you meet the above eligibility criteria and are interested in contributing to rural and remote healthcare, we encourage you to apply. A credentialing team member will contact you if your application meets program requirements.
