About the RoleWe are seeking a Senior Reservoir Engineer to join our Cooper Oil Subsurface team. As a key member of our team, you will provide technical support, aid in generating new drilling inventory, and conceptualize field development planning.
You will play a pivotal role in supporting future development drilling opportunities and reservoir management activities. Reporting to the Cooper Oil Team Leader, you will engage and work collaboratively with key stakeholders across the business.
Key Responsibilities:- Provide reservoir engineering technical and field development planning support to the Cooper Subsurface team.
- Ensure all subsurface technical work is appropriately assured through formal and informal technical reviews.
- Provide operational support for drilling wells, including monitoring drilling results and assisting with operational recommendations.
- Support the YE Reserves process and complete end-of-well lookbacks.
- Document and report work at both working and stakeholder engagement levels.
- Stay up-to-date with new technology and develop, justify, and implement its use where appropriate.
We are looking for a self-starter with proven experience working in multi-disciplinary teams. You should have a passion for mentoring junior staff in reservoir engineering, management, and modeling.
Essential experience includes:
- 10+ years' experience in the oil and gas industry.
- Experience working in multi-disciplinary subsurface teams generating drilling opportunities.
- Experience in resources assessments, formulating, documenting, and presenting to resource certifiers.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work autonomously and collaboratively.
Essential qualifications include:
- Degree-qualified subsurface professional (petroleum/reservoir engineering).
- Registered Professional Engineer Queensland (RPEQ) or working towards registration.
