Swimming Pool Safety Officer

We are seeking a highly responsible and certified lifeguard to ensure the safety of all individuals at our facility. As a casual swimming pool safety officer, you will be responsible for preventing and responding to aquatic emergencies, enforcing pool rules, and providing exceptional customer service.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain constant surveillance of the pool area, including the water and deck, to ensure the safety of all swimmers and visitors.
  • Enforce pool rules and regulations firmly, yet courteously, to maintain a safe and enjoyable environment.
  • Respond quickly and efficiently to any emergency situations, including providing first aid and CPR as needed.
  • Conduct regular inspections of the pool and equipment to ensure their proper functioning and report any maintenance or repair needs to the supervisor.
  • Assist in the set-up and breakdown of pool equipment, including chairs, umbrellas, and safety equipment.
  • Provide exceptional customer service by answering inquiries, addressing concerns, and maintaining a positive and friendly demeanor towards all patrons.
  • Assist with the implementation of swimming programs and lessons for all age groups, including water safety education.
  • Attend regular staff meetings and training sessions to stay up-to-date on lifeguarding techniques, emergency procedures, and pool regulations.
  • Clean and maintain the pool area, including locker rooms and restrooms, to ensure a clean and inviting environment for all visitors.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Must possess a current and valid lifeguard certification from an Australian accredited organisation.
  • Must be an Australian Citizen.
  • Ability to Pass Pre-Employment medical, Police Check, Security Check and Drug and Alcohol Screening.
  • Strong swimming skills and the ability to perform required rescue techniques confidently.
  • Excellent knowledge of water safety practices and emergency response procedures.
  • Ability to remain calm and composed in stressful situations and make quick, informed decisions.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to interact effectively with patrons of all ages and backgrounds.
  • Physical fitness and stamina to perform lifeguard duties for extended periods, including standing, sitting, and swimming.
  • Availability to work flexible hours, including weekends, holidays, and evenings.
  • Previous lifeguarding experience is preferred but not required.
