Maritime Field Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled Maritime Field Engineer to join our team in Sydney, Australia.

We have an exciting opportunity for a seasoned field engineer with experience installing, commissioning and fault-finding of commercial marine stabilised VSAT and TVRO systems.
Job DescriptionThis role will involve working independently on vessels across Australia, New Zealand and other regions, installing and servicing complex satellite, IT and A/V systems. You will be required to possess excellent attention to detail and a proven ability to deliver high-quality work in the demanding professional maritime industry.
You will be responsible for:
- Installing and commissioning new systems
- Fault-finding and troubleshooting existing systems
- Maintaining and repairing equipment
- Providing technical support and training to clients
To be successful in this role, you will require:
- Minimum three years' experience in installing, commissioning and fault-finding of commercial marine stabilised VSAT and TVRO systems
- Excellent written and spoken English
- Knowledge of satellite TDMA networks, such as iDirect or Newtec
- Data and voice networking expertise
- RF fault finding and test equipment skills
- Good mechanical, electrical and other technical aptitudes
- Ability and willingness to travel extensively (70%)
The successful candidate will receive:

- Cobham, Intellian and/or Orbit marine stabilised antenna OEM qualifications
- Satellite TV distribution systems experience
- Crestron automation systems knowledge
- Sea time as a professional mariner
- Military communications technical experience
