About the Role

We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to join our Water Infrastructure team. This is an exciting opportunity for a seasoned professional to lead and deliver mechanical design solutions for water treatment projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement mechanical designs for water treatment plants, including pump stations and treatment facilities.
  • Lead multidisciplinary teams in delivering major water treatment projects, working closely with clients and stakeholders.
  • Provide technical guidance and support to junior engineers, promoting knowledge sharing and skills development.
  • Mentor and develop junior mechanical engineers to ensure successful project delivery and long-term growth.
  • Collaborate with other disciplines to ensure seamless project execution and high-quality results.

Requirements:

  • Recognized tertiary qualifications in Mechanical Engineering or a closely allied discipline.
  • Chartered status from relevant engineering body, including Professional Engineer Registration in Victoria.
  • Minimum 10 years' experience in the water and wastewater industry (post-graduation).
  • Extensive experience in performing mechanical engineering design from concept to detailed design on various water treatment plants and systems.
  • Experience in preparing tender documentation, tender reviews, and recommendations.
  • Preferably experience in plant commissioning, upgrades, operation, maintenance, and decommissioning.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to develop and maintain positive relationships with internal and external clients.
  • Excellent leadership skills and experience leading engineering teams.
