Project Engineer Role Overview

Key Responsibilities:
  • Programming & Planning: Develop and manage detailed construction programs, monitor progress, and ensure milestones are met.
  • Contracts & Procurement: Prepare and manage subcontractor packages, negotiate scope and pricing, and ensure value for money in line with project requirements.
  • Cost Control & Forecasting: Track project spend, prepare financial reports, and forecast costs to support commercial decision-making.
  • Resource Planning & Allocation: Coordinate labour, plant, and materials to maximise efficiency across site activities.
  • Site Management & Inspections: Oversee day-to-day site operations, ensure quality standards are achieved, and support junior engineers and site teams.
  • Compliance with Environmental, Safety & Quality Systems: Uphold the highest standards across HSEQ frameworks, driving a safe, efficient, and environmentally responsible work environment.
Requirements:
  • Degree in Engineering or Construction Management: A degree in engineering or construction management is required for this role.
  • Site-Based Experience: 2-5 years of site-based experience across civil projects (earthworks, pavements, drainage, bridges, roads, or similar) is essential.
  • Strong Communication Skills: Strong communication, planning, and problem-solving skills are necessary to succeed in this role.
  • Commitment to Safety, Quality, and Environmental Standards: A high commitment to safety, quality, and environmental standards is expected.
