This is a permanent part-time (0.2 FTE) position commencing in the fourth term of 2025.

Newton Moore Senior High School provides students with a personalized educational experience from Year 7 to 12. The school has a strong sense of community and celebrates student strengths through innovative programs.

The Role

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Design and Technology Assistant to join our team.

The successful applicant will prepare the classroom and workshop to enable effective instruction, prepare specialized equipment and materials, and provide operational advice for design and technology classes.

The successful applicant will maintain and assess technical equipment, perform repairs, and maintain design and technology equipment, complete stock takes, and order supplies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare classrooms and workshops for effective instruction

Selection Criteria:

  • Demonstrated knowledge, skills, and experience in operating technical/industrial equipment in a design and technology workshop/class or similar environment
  • Demonstrated good written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills, including the ability to deal effectively with individuals at all levels
  • Demonstrated organizational and time management skills and ability to work independently

Eligibility:

  • Be an Australian or New Zealand citizen, permanent resident, or have a valid visa with relevant work rights for the term of the appointment
  • Obtain a valid Working With Children Check before starting
  • Consent to a Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check and obtain a current Screening Clearance Number issued by the Department's Screening Unit before starting
