Job Title: Senior Lecturer in Applied Plasma Physics and Biointerface Engineering
">OverviewThis is a unique opportunity for an ambitious researcher to establish a strong research program spanning plasma science and biomedical technologies, contributing to a vibrant community advancing technologies for biomedicine and sustainability.
">- Develop a robust research agenda, either independently or as part of a team, with a focus on applied plasma physics and biointerface engineering.
- Contribute to teaching and learning in Physics and Biomedical Engineering, utilizing expertise in plasma processing, materials/surface science, and engineering.
- Pursue external funding opportunities to support research initiatives.
- Develop and maintain collaborations within the School of Physics and the School of Biomedical Engineering, fostering a multidisciplinary environment.
- Supervise research students at the undergraduate and postgraduate levels, providing guidance and mentorship.
- Establish and maintain external research partnerships and engagement, including collaborations with industry partners and clinical organizations.
To be successful in this role, you will need:
">- A PhD or other research doctorate in a relevant field.
- A strong track record of research in applied plasma physics and biointerface engineering.
- Demonstrated expertise in plasma processing, including vacuum systems, high voltage pulsed power, and plasma diagnostics.
- Experience in materials/surface science and engineering.
- The ability to clearly communicate ideas and work effectively within a team environment.
- The capacity to work independently and motivate junior members of the team.
- Demonstrated ability and enthusiasm to work in multidisciplinary contexts, including biomedical and clinical settings.
- Experience working with industry partners and ideally as a core partner in large multi-institutional projects.
- Sufficient proficiency in physics and engineering to teach and supervise undergraduate physics and biomedical engineering classes.
- Progress toward establishing an independent research program, evidenced by original, high-quality research and a track record of external funding success.
