Aviation Expert

The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of rotary wing aircraft performance and operations, with fixed-wing experience being desirable. He/she must be able to champion Woodside's safety culture in aviation operations and ensure that all aviation and travel-related risks have appropriate controls in place.

This role involves leading and documenting aviation audits, ensuring timely closure of actions. The successful candidate will also serve as an SME in aviation event reviews and incident investigations, manage Technical Integrity changes and deviations relevant to aviation in accordance with the Integrity Management Standard.

Responsibilities:

  • Championing safe and compliant aviation operations
  • Ensuring effective controls for aviation and travel-related risks
  • Leading and documenting aviation audits
  • Serving as SME in aviation event reviews and incident investigations
  • Managing Technical Integrity changes and deviations
  • Providing after-hours technical support
  • Maintaining and updating Woodside Aviation standards and guidelines
  • Advising on aviation industry standards and regulations
  • Participating in aircraft operator tendering and approving acceptable operators
  • Monitoring aviation service provider performance against KPIs and driving continuous improvement
  • Engaging in Aviation and Drone Communities of Practice and internal stakeholder forums
  • Representing Woodside with key external stakeholders

Requirements:

  • Deep knowledge of rotary wing aircraft performance and operations
  • Strong understanding of offshore helicopter operations and relevant regulations
  • Lead auditor experience with Quality auditing standards
  • Proficiency in Aviation Safety Management Systems
  • Demonstrated success in managing external stakeholders
  • Technically competent with aviation-related digital systems
  • Minimum 10 years' experience in aviation, with a focus on offshore oil and gas environments
  • Commercial Helicopter Pilot Licence (CPL(H)) or Air Transport Pilot Licence (ATPL(H))
