Job Description

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Chief Officer to oversee the safe and efficient operation of our cement carriers. As a key member of our crew, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth execution of loading and discharge plans, as well as managing all aspects of cargo handling and storage.

About the Role
  • You will be responsible for supervising and training crew members engaged in cargo duties, enforcing safety protocols and regulations, and evaluating policies and procedures to ensure their proper implementation.
  • You will also provide guidance and support to Deck Officers and Cadets, and maintain a comprehensive knowledge of maintenance and repair needs of the deck and accommodation.
Requirements
  • Meet AMSA Marine Order 71 requirements.
  • Hold at least 12 months documented qualifying seagoing service in charge of navigation watch.
  • Possess an MSIC Card (or be able to obtain one).
  • Hold certification in Working Safely at Heights (or be able to obtain it).
  • Hold Enter and Work in a Confined Workspace certification (or be able to obtain it).
  • Hold a Current AMSA Medical Certificate (or be able to obtain it).
  • Be willing to live in Australia.
