System Engineering Role Overview

This is a key position for a System Engineer to work in Brisbane CBD and Millmerran, QLD. The role involves remote work, office collaboration in Brisbane CBD, and occasional onsite engagement at Millmerran, QLD.

About the Position

We are seeking a highly skilled Systems Engineer to provide advanced technical support, security management, and infrastructure maintenance across client environments.

Key Responsibilities
  • Infrastructure & Security Support: Administer and troubleshoot Veeam Backup & Replication, manage and maintain HPE server infrastructure, configure and support Fortinet security solutions, and support Cisco solutions.
  • Operations & Maintenance: Perform routine server management, patching, and maintenance activities, ensure backup and disaster recovery processes are tested and reliable, and monitor and resolve system performance, availability, and security issues.
  • Team Leadership & Mentoring: Provide guidance and technical escalation support to junior engineers, share knowledge and contribute to internal documentation.
  • Projects & Implementation: Lead or contribute to infrastructure and security projects, including Exchange upgrades and migrations, firewall upgrades and configuration, server and storage refreshes, and cloud integration initiatives.
Requirements
  • Proven experience in IT infrastructure and security engineering.
  • Hands-on experience with backup and storage solutions, servers, security products, productivity tools, virtualisation software, and security management tools.
  • Strong knowledge of networking, firewalls, and endpoint security best practices, ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues, and excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrated experience mentoring or supporting junior engineers.
