Mental Health Specialist

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled mental health professional to join our multidisciplinary team. The successful applicant will provide focused psychological strategies tailored to meet the individual needs of people accessing our service within a community-based mental health care setting.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide comprehensive assessment, brief and ongoing interventions, risk management and care planning for individuals with mental health issues.
  • Work collaboratively across health service networks to plan and coordinate individualized psychosocial interventions based on a case formulation approach.
  • Participate in the multidisciplinary mental health team, profession-specific network, and with consumers, families/carers, and extended agencies.
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • General registration as a Psychologist, Clinical Psychologist, Mental Health Occupational Therapist, Mental Health Nurse, or Accredited Mental Health Social Worker.
  • Demonstrated knowledge, expertise, and skill in Brief Intervention Models of Care, professional development, and willingness to participate in a continuous learning environment.
  • Well-developed judgment and evaluation skills with a working understanding of assessment and care planning.
  • Sound understanding of public, non-government, and private mental health systems and programs in a community setting.
