Job Opportunity

The role of a Facility Manager is crucial in supporting the day-to-day operations of managed facilities.

This is a hands-on position that requires knowledge of tissue culture, plant transformation systems, plant molecular biology and/or plant physiology.

The successful candidate will have working knowledge of running a biological sciences research laboratory and proven experimental skills in plant science related to tissue culture, molecular biology and/or physiology.

Responsibilities include implementing and streamlining organisational processes, ordering supplies, maintaining safety and cleanliness, tracking facility infrastructure and stock management.

The position also involves liaison with staff to ensure facilities run efficiently, and engagement through contributing to strategic projects within the organisation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage daily operations of facilities
  • Implement and streamline organisational processes
  • Ordering supplies and managing inventory
  • Maintain safety and cleanliness standards
  • Track facility infrastructure and stock management
  • Liaise with staff to ensure efficient facility operations
  • Engage with staff to contribute to strategic projects

Requirements:

  • Knowledge of tissue culture, plant transformation systems, plant molecular biology and/or plant physiology
  • Working knowledge of running a biological sciences research laboratory
  • Proven experimental skills in plant science related to tissue culture, molecular biology and/or physiology
  • Familiarity with safety and other statutory compliance matters relevant to a field and laboratory environment
  • Previous experience working with plants, with good working knowledge of biosecurity and other statutory requirements
