Key Maintenance and Engineering Leadership Role

The ideal candidate will take full accountability for the performance of maintenance and operational functions at a Tier 1 deposit in South Australia.

Job Summary:

This role requires an experienced leader to oversee maintenance and engineering teams on remote operations. The successful candidate must have formal qualifications in either engineering or mechanical/electrical trades and experience working at a senior level.

Responsibilities:

  1. Lead the maintenance team and provide technical advice and direction to meet company standards and objectives in a cost-effective manner.
  2. Guide the technical teams in problem-solving and decision-making using maintenance, engineering, and project knowledge.
  3. Drive engineering effectiveness through quality engineering deliverables, performance management, and safety and sustainability in design and constructability reviews.
  4. Review engineering designs using applied understanding of design, construction, operation, and maintenance requirements and practices.
  5. Support the Projects team by providing technical input into engineering reviews and contribute to project execution strategies.
  6. Champion identification of risks and ensure they are actively managed throughout project phases.
  7. Ensure port facilities are adequately maintained to avoid disruption to the supply chain and prevent non-compliances to environmental standards.
  8. Ensure other assets (such as camp, haul road, and borefields) are proactively maintained to guarantee operational continuity.
  9. Apply coaching and mentoring skills to help develop and support both maintenance and engineering teams.
  10. Actively manage the execution of the Facilities contracts.

Requirements:

  1. Experience in leading maintenance and engineering teams on remote operations.
  2. Formal qualifications in either engineering or mechanical/electrical trades and experience working at a senior level.
  3. Demonstrated Mining & Resources experience.
  4. Thorough understanding of the requirements of the maintenance aspects of regulatory frameworks.
  5. Excellent communication and influencing skills along with sound judgment, decision-making, and problem-solving capabilities.
  6. Ability to interpret technical information across multiple engineering disciplines and provide advice to teams of industry professionals.
  7. Effective time management, reporting, and presentation skills.
