Painter Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Painter to join our team at Adelaide Builders Pty Ltd. As a Painter, you will be responsible for applying coats of paint, varnish, stain, enamel, or lacquer to decorate and protect interior or exterior surfaces.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Apply paint coatings to surfaces using various tools and techniques.
  2. Read and follow instructions, blueprints, and work orders to determine the type and amount of work required.
  3. Prepare surfaces for painting by smoothing, sanding, and removing old paint.
  4. Make on-site preparations, including building scaffolding and covering fixtures.
  5. Fill nail holes, cracks, and joints with appropriate materials.
  6. Select and mix paints to achieve the desired color.
  7. Paint surfaces according to instructions and specifications.
  8. Thin drying substances to prepare paint for application.
  9. Remove fixtures and cover surfaces to protect them during painting.
  10. Create special effects, such as wood grain or marble effects, using paint and various tools.
  11. Estimate costs and negotiate prices with clients.
Requirements:
  • AQF Certificate III or higher in Painting and Decorating.
  • At least 3 years of experience as a Painter or related trade.
  • High-level professionalism and general etiquette.
  • Ability to travel to job sites in Adelaide.
